New Line Cinema Acquires 'The New Daughter'

New Line Cinema Acquires 'The New Daughter' - Variety reports that New Line Cinema has acquired domestic rights to Gold Circle thriller The New Daughter, which was a pretty rad script when I checked it out last year. The film stars Kevin Costner and Ivana Banquero in the story of a single father who moves to a farm with his two kids after a painful divorce. When his daughter starts behaving ominously, he begins to suspect that the burial mound in a nearby field might have something to do with it. The pic's based on a story by John Connolly published in his 2005 short fiction collection "Nocturnes." Lensing will start in early 2008, with Luiso Berdejo directing from a screenplay by John Travis.
