Jason Voorhees Returns on 'Friday the 13th' 2009 - Get ready for the best Valentine's Day present a horror fan could ever receive... Bloody-Disgusting was informed that Paramount Pictures will release Platinum Dunes' Friday the 13th remake in theaters on February 13, 2009. I know it's a long haul, but that's about a year from the start of production. Watch for heavy coverage here on B-D in the coming year. Marcus Nispel is set to direct off a script by Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. Word has it the remake will be a modern telling of Jason Voorhees, who already rocks his infamous hockey mask.
