Michael Rosenbaum 'Elm Street' Rumor FALSE - Before this rumor spreads like wildfire we're going to put it out. Cinema Blend reported that Michael Rosenbaum has been "lunching" with Michael Bay and implies that this means that the "Smallville" star is in talks to play Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes' remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street. How two people having lunch turns into a casting speculation is hilarious to me, especially when Platinum Dunes is casting two other movies at the moment. But back on track, we checked our sources and have confirmed that this news is 100% pure BS - even to the extent that Michael Bay has NOT has lunch with Rosenbaum. Worst rumor of the year so far.
