Michael Showalter to Direct 'Night of the Living Dorks' Remake - One of my favorite comedians is Michael Showalter (The Baxter, Wet Hot American Summer), who got his start on MTV's The State back in the '90s. Today STYD received word from Quarantine producer Doug Davison of Vertigo Entertainment that Showalter will direct their remake of Night of the Living Dorks for Warner Independent Pictures. Described as "Revenge of the Nerds" meets "Shaun of the Dead," the story revolves around three not-so-cool school friends who decide to try an old voodoo ritual. When they later die in a car crash, they find themselves reborn as zombies, and try to take advantage of their new lifestyle.
