Huge 'Ghostbusters' Announcement at San Diego Comic Con

Huge 'Ghostbusters' Announcement at San Diego Comic Con - While at the WonderCon in San Francisco, Slashfilm did some A+ detective work and made a significant discovery. The convention program carried an interesting tease that features the classic Ghostbusters logo and the words something exciting is coming to the neighborhood! Look for the big announcement at Comic Con San Diego 2008. First thought was that this was for the video game... but when they looked closer they discovered a little logo that said "Sony Pictures Home Entertainment"! Our main guess would be that this is for the direct-to-DVD CGI sequel once titled "Hellbent" that has been rumored for years - and even already has a script written - or it could be as simple as Sony announcing a special Blu-Ray release to coincide with the release of the game. Hopefully someone will break the news, otherwise we'll find out come July!

B-D Review: 'Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead'

B-D Review: 'Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead' - It has been nearly six years since I've liked a new Troma film. To put it in perspective, the last time Troma released anything worth recommending we had just had our one year birthday here on B-D. Today David Harley sent in his review for Lloyd Kaufman's Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, and without a shadow of a doubt I'm going to have to agree with most of his review, this movie is Troma-lickin' good! "Filled with gratuitous nudity, over-the-top grand guignol gore set pieces, hilarious social commentary, musical numbers and a talking Sloppy Jose sandwich, POULTRYGEIST: NIGHT OF THE CHICKEN DEAD is everything you ever wanted from a Troma film and then some." Berlin Festival: Review For Lordi's 'Dark Floors'

Berlin Festival: Review For Lordi's 'Dark Floors' - This evening B-D stringer Michael Panduro sent us in another review all the way from the Berlin Film Festival, this time for Lordi's highly anticipated feature film, Dark Floors, which we're told might not make it here to the States for a long time. "Even though its plastered in heavy clichés and predictable plot-twists, has no sense of mood or tempo and features some of the least scary monsters ever to grace the silver screen, its still remarkably entertaining. It balances on a razors edge with a serious, bordering pretentious, storyline on one side and those goofy-looking Lordi-monsters on the other. Well played, ironic horror-comedy or a serious, bloody misfire? Youll have to judge for yourself." Click the title for the full review and also check here to see what Twitch Film had to say.
